The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages is a 2001 action–adventure game for the Game Boy Color, developed by Capcom in collaboration with Nintendo. It was released alongside Oracle of Seasons as part of the The Legend of Zelda.

The story follows Link as he is transported to the land of Labrynna, where the sorceress Veran possesses Nayru, the Oracle of Ages, and disrupts the flow of time. To restore balance, Link obtains the Harp of Ages, which allows him to travel between the past and present. Actions taken in one era directly affect the other, forming the core of the game’s puzzle-driven design.

Compared to Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages focuses more heavily on complex puzzles and time-based mechanics rather than combat. It features traditional dungeon progression, item upgrades, and a linked-game system that connects with Oracle of Seasons to unlock additional story content and the true ending.

With its intricate time-travel mechanics and layered world design, Oracle of Ages is regarded as one of the most clever and challenging 2D entries in the Zelda series.
